10/18/17 TWN – 10 Miles of Fun

For all you Richmond Marathon and Half Marathon Runners….it’s almost taper time!!!!  And Fall showed up just in time for these last long runs.  Should be a beautiful night.    Please remember your reflective gear and lights.  I’m guessing that just about everyone will be doing the 10 mile route, but there is a shorter route as well and both will hit the SAG!

Looking for a way to celebrate your post race victory!  Well come join your fellow TWN runners for a Fun Pub Run.  We’ll log a few miles to loosen the legs up post race.  And we’ll enjoy a few celebratory beers at nearby breweries and pubs along the way.  Mark your calendars for Wednesday 11/15/17.  More details to come!

TWN Route 10/11/2017

Wednesday looks like a wonderful evening to run. All three routes get a SAG this week. The 9 mile route has a pretty steep hill (or two) on it along Idlewood, there’s no shame in walking it, especially if you are training for an upcoming race.

The sun sets about 15 minutes after we start running, so please don’t forget your lights and reflective gear.

The miles are getting longer as we approach the marathon season.  Whether you’re new to running, or a seasoned veteran, YOU CAN DO THIS!

TWN 9/20/17

Greetings to the TWN group. This weeks run will be a themed run.  Our great nation seems to be in turmoil over how they feel about certain monuments and structures.  Richmond has sadly been no exception.  So in an effort to bring us all together, I have created a route that is going to be all inclusive.  We are going to be running past everything from the Arthur Ashe Monument , churches, synagogues, VMFA, and yes even the now infamous Lee Monument.  Feel free to engage in healthy and respectful debate on your 8 or 10 mile run….you’ll have plenty of time to chat.  Or if that’s too overwhelming, you can always talk about where dinner is going to be.  Anyway, enjoy the evening and don’t forget reflective gear and lights.

One other thing – a VCU photography student asked if she could take pictures of us during the run, so that she could get experience taking pictures of people in motion. She agreed to send us copies after she’s taken them so that if anyone has any objections to their picture being taken, they can say so.

Post Labor Day Run September 6

Labor Day is over folks, and it’s time to get back into our routine.
